Chiropractic treatment has been demonstrated to be effective for complaints of the neck, back and other areas of the body caused by nerves, muscles, joints and related tissues. Treatment by your chiropractor can relieve pain, including headache, altered sensation, muscle stiffness and spasm. It can also increase mobility, improve function, and reduce or eliminate the need for medication or surgery. Hawkins Family Chiropractic uses the following adjustment techniques to provide manual adjustments: Diversified, flexion-distraction, Thompson drop and Activator.

Hawkins Family Chiropractic provides the following techniques/treatments to decrease pain, inflammation, and scar tissue while improving the function of the musculoskeletal system:
Techniques: Active Release Technique (ART), Scraping (IASTM), kinesiology taping.
Passive modalities/treatments: ice packs, heat packs, electronic STIM, and rehab exercises.


Laser Therapy

Hawkins Family Chiropractic uses a Class IV Laser to promote increased cellular energy levels, accelerated cellular healing, and pain relief! Class IV Laser Therapy has shown to reduce inflammation and pain, along with stimulating nerve regeneration and immune system response. Laser sessions are quick and painless and they provide progression over a span of multiple weeks.

Dry needling is a treatment that's for pain and movement issues associated with myofascial trigger points. With this technique, a provider inserts thin needles into or near your trigger points. The needles stimulate your muscles, which causes them to contract or twitch. When dry needling is applied to an affected muscle or trigger point, it can decrease muscle tightness, increase blood flow and reduce pain. Patients often report immediate relief after treatment. The needles remain in your muscle for a short period of time — between 10 seconds and 15 minutes.

Dr. Hawkins graduated from Manchester University with his Bachelors of Exercise Science in 2018. He then completed his doctorates in Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield Missouri in December of 2021.

He then moved back to his hometown of Peru, IN with aspirations to open his own practice. His mission is to provide quality and affordable care to the members of his childhood community.

In his spare time he enjoys staying active by playing soccer, hiking, weightlifting, camping, and playing golf!
